Tax Collector Authority

The real estate taxes of Upper Merion Township property owners are billed and collected by your Elected Tax Collector. The Tax Collector’s authority to collect taxes is based on Pennsylvania law.

Evelyn Ankers, Tax Collector is authorized to collect the current year’s real estate property taxes for Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County and the Upper Merion Area School District.

She is NOT authorized at this time to collect any other taxes or fees for the Township, County or School District. She also is not authorized to collect the fees of the King of Prussia Business Improvement District.

The Elected Tax Collector’s legal authority to collect most taxes in the current year expires on December 31. The Tax Collector HAS NO AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT PAYMENTS POSTMARKED AFTER DECEMBER 31. The Elected Tax Collector has no choice but to return payments made or postmarked after December 31. Unpaid taxes after December 31 are turned over to the Montgomery County Tax Claim Bureau for collection.

Please note that if you have unpaid taxes from a prior year, you must make payment to the office authorized to collect delinquent taxes. Delinquent taxes from a prior year cannot be paid to Evelyn Ankers, Tax Collector.
